In the field of literacy and composition, much has been discussed in recent years regarding understanding the new elements of digital compositions. A few of these features which are often included in blog entries are as follows:
- Hyperlinks which the author uses to provide the reader with direct access to supplementary or additional information. These links can take the reader to a variety of web-based texts (e.g., videos, google docs, slideshows, podcasts).
- embedded images which the authors uses to enhance the information in the text. 👀
- use of different color and SIZE fonts to enhance the text
For entries #6-#11, you are asked to consider if including some of these digital-features would benefit your readers. In the presentation component of the rubric for Checkpoint #2 it states:
One easy way to meet this expectation is to be sure to include a hyperlink to your peer's entry for Blog Entry #8 and Entry #10. Be sure though, to make sure that you include a link to the actual entry rather than just to blog. The URL for the actual entry will include some of the title of the blog post.
Some of you have been including references to the CCSS and other web-based texts. As well as including a hyperlink to the source in your references, this would be another way include a useful link in the body of your text.
Finally, for those of you that are using "SIMPLE DESIGN" for your blog template, you want to make sure you are publishing entries that provide your reader with the greatest ease, make sure that the size of your blog margins are more than half of the page. To increase the size of your margins, follow these steps:
Click on LAYOUT and then click on the highlighted text: THEME designer.
Once in the theme designer, you will see bars on the left hand size that you can use to increase and decrease the size of your blog. My blog is 1080 px for the entire blog.
To save any changes to the format, click on the SAVE button in the bottom right hand corner.
